Birds Park @ SRIT: As you all are aware, our Alma Mater - SRIT tries to be more than just a college, It is trying to inculcate a way of life. It's a way that is kind to every living thing, a way that is good for the planet, a way that creates happiness on Earth. Towards that end, we have inaugurated a bird park in the grounds of SRIT on 2/Aug/2017. This is to create an opportunity for all the bird lovers to get together and show their love for the feathered friends. We have had the courage to start this initiative because we have always seen students of SRIT embrace every new endeavor with enthusiasm.
Orientation Program for I B.Tech students: On 6/August/2017, we have conducted an orientation program for the first year Engineering students admitted this academic year (i.e., 2017-18). The chief guest of the program was Sri. E. S. Chakravarthy, Centre Head, TCS, Bengaluru. Below are a few highlighted points as he talked about many things but to sum up his inspirational speech:
* Role of a Teacher & Parents in molding the children as real human beings.
* Need of Language skills, Technical skills, Mathematical skills and Life skills.
* Role of an Engineer in helping the nation reach next levels.
* Science & Technology and the innovations.
Placements: Happy to inform that H. Ajeet Rao, K. Rajasekhar Reddy & Bhanu Prakash of 2017 passed out batch, got placed in Bridgestone in August - 2017. Their role is Graduate Trainee Engineer, Job location is Kurnool and the package offered is 2 LPA. SRIT congratulate all of them.
Technical Exhibition: On 11/August/2017, Department of Civil Engineering conducted "Sethu Sammelan - 2017", a Technical Exhibition on Bridge Models prepared by IV BTech (CIV) Students, to create awareness among all the Civil Engineering students.
Achievement: Congratulations to K. Nagendra Prasad, IV B.Tech (EEE) for getting selected as a "National youth Volunteer" this year. He attended the "National Youth Volunteer Induction Training Program" conducted from 24/July/2017 to 7/August/2017 in Ananthapuramu by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports. The role of the volunteer is to make the people aware of various schemes & programs launched by the Government for the benefit of the common man and contribute to the growth of the nation.
Awareness program on the Anti-Ragging act: Anti ragging cell of SRIT conducted two awareness programs on "Anti Ragging Act" (one was on 8/August/2017, and another was on 17/August/2017) for II B.Tech students and the chief Guests of the programs were Sri. Kamalakar Reddy, District Judge, District Legal Services Authority, Ananthapuramu and Sri. Sudhakar Yadav, SI, BKS respectively. They talked about various forms of the ragging, causes of Ragging, Punishable ingredients of Ragging, Anti ragging act, Punishments for ragging offenses, life after the Imprisonment, etc. They urged students to submit their anti ragging affidavits without fail as per the guidelines of Supreme Court. They requested the students to support the Institute become a ragging-free campus.
NAA peer team visit: NAAC peer team visited SRIT on August 21-23, 2017 to review the Curricular aspects, Teaching-Learning methods, Research-Consultancy, Learning Resources, Infrastructure (Class rooms, labs, seminar halls, etc.), Facilities (Library, Hostels, Canteen, Games-Sports and etc.), Governance, Innovative practices, Strengths, Weaknesses, Challenges and Institutional Opportunities. A three member peer team (1. Prof. Narendra S Chowdhary, Director, VNIT, Nagpur; 2. Prof. Vinayak N Shet, Principal, Goa Engineering College, Goa; 3. Dr. Rajesh Pant, (Retd Lt. Gen), Chairman, Board of Directors, PEL, Noida) spent three days to assess SRIT in all aspects. They interacted with all stakeholders (Students, Parents, Alumni, Teaching staff, Non-teaching staff, members of various committees, HODs, Principal and Governing Body members) to get an overview of the college. A few students exhibited their talents on the day-1 to showcase the extra curricular activities to the peer team, and they liked the performances of all the students. They had an Exit meeting with the Principal, HODs, IQAC team and the management to express/give their opinions, observations, suggestions, and inputs for the benefit of the students and the Institute.
A 10-day FDP on Entrepreneurship Development: Entrepreneurship cell of SRIT in association with National Institute for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (NI MSME) conducted a 10-day (21/August/2017 to 1/September/2017) Faculty Development Program for about 30 teaching faculty members attended from all Engineering streams. Resource persons for the FDP were Mr. G. Sudharshan, ni-msme, Hyderabad; Mr. S. Vishveshwer Reddy, ni-msme, Hyderabad; Mr. D. Harishchandra Rama, CA, Anantapuramu; and Mr. G. Sudharshan Babu, GM, DIC, Anantapuramu. Topics covered in the FDP are as follows.
* The financing schemes that government of India is providing to encourage start ups.
* The process of registering the business.
* Marketing strategies and steps to be taken to make the successful business.
* Important concepts of Accounting, Income Tax, and GST.
* Awareness on business opportunities in Anantapuramu and industries present in the district.
AROHAN:Department Vision and Mission Vision: To become a premier department of learning in Computer Science and Engineering that empowers its students to be self-motivated, ethical, responsible, and competent Professionals. Mission: Continually improve the teaching-learning and associated processes to enable the students gain sound knowledge of the theoretical concepts of Computer Science and Engineering as well as its applications. Provide comprehensive learning experiences that educate and motivate the students to acquire excellent technical skills, strong ethical values, life-long learning abilities and social consciousness. Strengthen industry institute interactions to enable the students work on realistic problems and expose to them to practical issues in the industry. Faculty Achievements Mr. P. Praneel Kumar had participated in NPTEL March 2017 examination for “Introduction to Modern Application Development” and got cleared with Elite certification grade. Students Achievements NPTEL March 2017 Examination results are released in the month of April 2017. Following students had participated and cleared the exam. Following activities are conducted: 1) Open Debate on "Cashless Transactions" 2) Technical Grid 3) Technical Questions based on C & Java 4) Finding Monuments - Finding out the name of the monument or country name in which it is located. 5) Rapid Fire Mr. P.
